Online Therapist for California Residents

Could you use someone to talk to?

Seeing an therapist online can help you get to where you want to be...

Could your relationship benefit from an unbiased and trained perspective, but commuting and/or scheduling make it feel too difficult? Does your teen/young adult want or need support, but it feels like the last thing they (or you) need is another appointment or thing to do? Has the pandemic impacted your sense of safety – leaving you feeling isolated and/or with lowered self-esteem? Perhaps with everything that is going on, in the world or personally, all you want to do is be able to stay in the comfort of your own home (and sweatpants haha) and not have one more place that you need to be. Maybe with how hard it is to stay organized, what would really help is to be able to just hop on your computer or cell phone and be in your appointment at a moment’s notice.

I promise you, you are not alone...

Therapist Online California With the current state of the world, and honestly even before all of this, it is beyond understandable that you would resonate with any of the questions above. The world as we know it has been  flipped upside down and has impacted all of us in ways we could not have foreseen. Life already has its challenges on its own, and throwing a pandemic into the mix has added some additional challenges for many. Online therapy was already a convenient and effective resource, and has only become more useful now due to social distancing guidelines.

Online Therapy Services I Specialize In

ADHD Therapy

Do you find that you are often forgetful, impulsive, or easily distracted? Not only can online ADHD therapy provide the same benefits that you would get in-person but can eliminate some of the most well-known struggles associated with ADHD such as forgetfulness, time-management, and procrastination. Online ADHD therapy can help you break undesired patterns and develop effective strategies to feel in control, and feel more capable than ever before.

Couples Therapy

Are you and your partner struggling to connect or communicate? Couples counseling can help you understand both you and your partner’s needs, improve emotional awareness and communication in your relationship. Online couples counseling can help re-forge the bonds that make you feel connected to one another and improve how you communicate, so you can get back to enjoying what truly matters… your relationship.

Teen / Young Adult Therapy

Online teen / young adult therapy can provide the same therapeutic benefits that they would get in person; such as improved coping skills, the ability to understand and process their difficult emotions, and setting and achieving goals. Seeing an online teen therapist can not only help with improving your teen’s struggles of today, but also build the foundational concepts for successful strategies in adulthood.

Other Virtual Services

Other online therapy services I offer include marriage counseling, teen counseling, self esteem therapy, premarital counseling, grief counseling, relationship counseling and life transitions counseling.

Why Book an Online Therapy Session with Me?

Spencer Chernick, LMFT - ADHD, Couples, Teens, Children - San Diego, CA 92109 Simply put, because you can begin your healing journey without even having to change out of your slippers. I offer online video therapy that allows you the opportunity to get the support you deserve from the comfort of your own home. I have been able to assist numerous clients with a diverse range of struggles via online therapy, and I want to do the same for you. My belief is that what starts off as a friendly face on a screen quickly shifts to a feeling of support that is just as effective and comforting as it would be in-person. You deserve to receive support, and our ability to physically be in the same room shouldn’t change that!

What is most important is that you find an online therapist with whom you genuinely connect and feel their expertise is tailored to your current needs. As a result, I offer a free 15 minute consultation so that you and I can ask and share whatever is needed to determine if we would be a good fit. If you feel that I could be helpful in journey, please reach out to schedule your free consultation. I truly believe that every second of every day is another chance to make positive change, and it would be an honor and a privilege to be welcomed into your world so that we can get you where you deserve to be.

What Does An Virtual Therapy Session Look Like?

Honestly, as long as you feel comfortable with your therapist, it’s not much different from Zooming with anyone else. The only real difference between an online / virtual therapy and in-person therapy is that we don’t have to be in the same place at the same time and our faces are on screens; pending sufficient internet connection. In fact, as long as you are in California, we can meet from wherever we are! Of course, if any questions come up along the way, I will be happy to answer! Once you decide that I am a good fit for you, and we have everything squared away, I will send you a link to the online video platform that we will use for every session thereafter. In my experience, the combination of being in the location of your choice and not having to commute to and from anywhere (not to mention finding parking haha) serves as a natural ice breaker as we get to know each other. Truth be told, the only difference in my approach when compared to in-person is that I am likely wearing slippers. Simply put, distance therapy allows me to provide the same safe space and therapeutic techniques / modalities that I would in-person. Personally, I have found virtual therapy to be a very powerful resource for people that struggle with ADHD, emotional regulation, communication/conflict in their relationship(s), low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and more. I would love to help 🙂

You may have some questions about online therapy...

If you feel like you are experiencing some struggles in your life, and could benefit from support, then online therapy (also known as virtual therapy) could be a great fit for you!

Although the length of online therapy sessions can vary, I offer both a 50 minute and 80 minute option with the ability to extend even further upon request.

My fees for online therapy are $150 per 50 minute session and $225 per 80 minute session. If you are interested in learning my extended rates, just ask 🙂

This is a very important question that deserves every effort to adequately answer. Unless the first therapist you speak with completely knocks your socks off, I recommend reaching out to every therapist that sounds like they would be a good fit until you feel safe and that their expertise aligns with what you want to focus on. For this reason, I offer a free 15 minute consultation so that we both have the opportunity to get to know each other before deciding if we are a good fit.

Honestly, the best online / virtual therapy that you can get is largely – if not entirely – based on what you feel would work best for you and what you are trying to achieve. You don’t have to know every type of approach either. Simply ask any therapist that you consult with to describe their style and/or how sessions are typically run and feel it out from there.

You CAN live your life free from whatever holds you back... free to live the life you want and deserve

Contact Me to Schedule a 15 Minute Phone Consultation and See If I am the Online Therapist for You!
